INCLUSION STATEMENT

YMCA Camp Mohawk welcomes all girls of any race, faith, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or socio-economic status.

Camp Mohawk believes in the intrinsic worth of every human being. We believe that a diversity of campers and staff enriches our camp environment and enhances our mission. Our culture encourages respect, belonging and equal treatment of all its members. We provide experiences that foster our core values of caring, honesty, respect, inclusion, responsibility, and leadership.

We are committed to providing a space that feels safe and supportive to all members of our community. We do this by celebrating and valuing our differences.

We strive to equip girls with the skills to bring about positive changes in themselves and their communities. We believe that bringing diverse individuals together allows us to collectively and more effectively address the issues that our campers and staff face in the world beyond Mohawk.

The Board of Directors helps guide Camp Mohawk in meeting these commitments through its Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. The DEI Committee examines camp practices, as well as emerging issues beyond the camp community, in order to inform responsible and responsive best practices.

Mohawk recognizes that the world is constantly changing, and we need to be prepared to respond accordingly, but always in furtherance of our mission and goals.
