Meet A Mohawker: Katie Pruden
Meet Katie, a returning staff member who will be coming to camp for her 7th year! Katie is currently a senior at Stone Bridge High School in Virginia. She will be attending West Virginia University in the fall to study nursing. Outside of school she plays lacrosse, and works on the schools yearbook staff. She loves attending all the school sporting events, camera in hand and cheering on her friends. She works at the trampoline park in her town where she hosts the birthday parties. In her free time she loves to hang out with her friends, and go into D.C.
This will be Katie’s second year on staff. Last summer she was a counselor in Utes and Mohicans for the full summer. You could find her down at the riding rings, or teaching American Sign Language. One thing that Katie can not live without at camp is her water bottle. Not only does she find this crucial for hydration purposes, but she also fills it up with stickers and friendship bracelets throughout the summer. When asked if she could magically gain the skill to teach a random class at camp she said that she would love to teach sailing. She always took Jeremy Marchand’s sailing class when she was a camper, and loved it!
Camp Mohawk is Katie’s second home. She is always walking around with a smile on her face, and her positive energy keeps her campers excited about the day to come. Her favorite part about camp is the neverending spirit. Katie feels that no matter the age, all the campers and staff expel the Mohawk spirit.
If you are lucky enough to have Katie as your counselor you will truly have the best summer ever!
