Meet Our CIT’s
We are so excited to welcome our newest group of CIT’s to camp this summer! All of our CIT’s this summer are natural born leaders, who excel at school and in their communities. We can’t wait for the summer to start so we can start seeing what the accomplish at camp. Today we are featuring 4 of our CIT’s so you can get to know them. Look out next month for some more bio’s on our lovely future world leaders!
Hello, I am Maggie and I am going to be a CIT session 3 and 4 this coming summer. In my free time, I love to play with my animals which includes my four dogs and my two cats. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family. Outside of camp I love to go skiing in Killington, Vermont. Although there has not been much snow here on the east coast, my family recently joined a ski club, and we have been meeting a lot of new kids along the way. At home, my time has been mostly consumed by track and my all girls robotics team(Woohoo, girl power!). I am currently training for a half marathon which will be happening in late March. I am also counting down the days until camp starts and I have been brainstorming ideas for my theme night outfits. I am very excited to be at camp and be a CIT because I have looked up to them since I was a small Ute. I am hoping to meet some amazing CITs, counselors, and campers this summer! I can not wait to be back at the stables and Mohawk Pond. I can’t wait to see everyone back at Mohawk soon!
I’m Stevie and I’m going to be a CIT sessions 3/4! Outside of camp, I am on a Junior Curling Team and my school’s Track and Field Team. I also participate in the Women’s Empowerment Club at my school. I am super excited to be coming back this year because camp has become my second home! Camp has helped me meet new people and take risks which is why I can’t wait to be back this summer!
Hello, my name is Lexi and I have been a camper at Camp Mohawk since 2014. When I am not at Camp Mohawk, you will most likely find me at a Broadway Show – my favorites are Phantom of the Opera & Les Misérables. I am a Sophomore at a P-Tech school in Norwalk, CT which means I attend high school while working towards an Associate Degree at my local community college. I enjoyed playing both basketball & lacrosse for over 4 years. My other interests are horseback riding, playing the ukulele and keyboard, and participating in the AFJROTC program at my high school. In my spare time, I enjoy drawing and creative writing. If I had to decide my future career today, I would have a hard time deciding between flying for the Air Force, joining the law enforcement field, or working behind the scenes on a Broadway show.
I am excited to be returning this year as a CIT for Sessions 3 & 4. I look forward to greeting the campers who are new so I can share all the cool things about being at Camp Mohawk.
Hi, my name is Jane, and this will be my 7th year at Camp Mohawk. I’m so excited to be a CIT this year because since I moved to Florida in 2015, camp has been such an important part of my life. Some things I love to do outside of camp are lacrosse, dance, and going to the beach. I also love fashion, makeup, and playing cards! I can’t wait to meet all the other CIT’s this summer!
My name is Lauren Ally and I am so excited to become a CIT at YMCA Camp Mohawk. I hope to learn skills that will enable me to make others love camp as much as I does. I has been attending camp since the summer of 2012, this will be my 8th year!! I learned about Camp Mohawk from me older sister Rebecca who has been both a camper and a counselor. I have loved being able to grow up at camp, surrounded by so many amazing and inspiring women. When not at camp I spend my time playing varsity basketball and lacrosse for my high school. I also enjoys participating in clubs at her school including environmental, book and helping hands. My favorite things to do at Mohawk are helping out around the barn, and playing card game with my friends during optional rec/siesta (especially spicy uno). I also love dressing up for all of the theme nights with my cabin, and having fun at Dutch auction. She is super excited to find out what is in store for this coming summer, and to see all of my camp friends
As you can see we have some amazing girls participating in our leadership program this summer! (and these are only 5 out of the 24 young ladies we have joining us for the CIT Program!) We are beyond impressed by what these girls achieve during the school year, and can’t wait to see how hard they work this summer! Stay tuned to meet more of our wonderful future world leaders!
